Gingivitis (Gum Disease) is when bacterial starts to grow in your mouth and may cause tooth loss due to destruction of the tissue. The bacteria build up causes the gums to be inflamed with a red color gum and swollen. Symptoms include gums that bleed easily during brushing the teeth, gums pulled away from the teeth, and Pus between the teeth when pressed, or bad breath. When gingivitis is left untreated, it can advance to periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is a chronic disease that can go on for years before you ever notice. You start to feel some loose teeth which may may lead to loosing all your teeth. This is the reason that you need to stay regular with your dental visits.
